the beginnings...

i have had some artist urges mywholelife.When I was a little girl I made cards for my mom and dad, just like we all did. Then I just kept going...

i drew the cover picture for my eighth grade graduation, a bengal tiger, our mascot. In high school I took a couple of art classes but discovered i prefer to go it on my own. i felt a little too tied down with instruction... and preferrred the creative expression of going it on my own. This has of course lead to many pitfalls along the way, and a serious lack of some technique; but I like some of my pieces that way since it comes all from me.

i have always had a gift in being able to pick up a pencil and sketching nearly anything from a picture or drawing, but i always felt that i was just recreating someone elses beauty. i therefore never thought of myself as an "Artist".

i've since reconsidered. the more people i meet, the more i realize my gifts.

i AM an artist.
